Introduction:
Our Client is a specialist in the designing, development and manufacture of technology based composite structures and provides solutions throughout a wide range of industries including Automotive, Rail and Marine.
Later identified, was the potential for a range of architectural solutions using honeycomb technology with exceptionally high strength to weight ratio, the benefits of using aluminium honeycomb in architectural products was immediately obvious. Believing light to be one of the most versatile resources available to architects and interior designers, encouraged our client to create products that whilst aesthetically pleasing don't form a barrier to light.
Due to their continued success, a vacancy has arisen for a Product Manager to be based at their Head Office in Cambridge.
Reporting to the Group Sales Director, you will be responsible for the effective co-ordination of Sales, Marketing, Product Development and Production activities to ensure our client's product range meets it's market objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and investigate dealer / agent network.
- To identify and realise full market potential of the company's products to optimum profit levels.
- Establish an active international dealer and agent network.
- To contribute towards the formulation and implementation of the Sales Budget and Sales Strategy.
- Visit customers to secure new business and receive feedback.
- Co-ordinate Sales support activities which involve progressing orders from contact, order processing, delivery, feedback and where necessary satisfactory conclusion of customer complaints.
- Co-ordinate Marketing activities, which involve collating and report on all market intelligence, with particular reference to competitor's activities - their product performance and prices, service and quality.
- To liaise with the marketing department in the development of websites and sales literature.
- To attend exhibitions or product launches and liaise with the marketing department in the organisation.
- Co-ordinate Product Development activities, which involve research into new materials and processes.
- Research and Development of new business areas, for example ECO friendly products, London 2012 and other areas as may be deemed appropriate when necessary.
- To ensure a professional, quality service (external and internal) is provided at all times throughout the various stages of sales and marketing.
Applicant Requirements:
- You will have good awareness of general Health, Safety, Quality an Environmental Practices within the workplace and be prepared to adhere to company policies.
- It is envisaged that the successful applicant will be qualified to degree level or similar.
- The successful applicant will have come from a similar role in managing a product line with experience of penetrating new markets.
- You will be a good communicator at all levels and able to provide business presentations in order to secure new business.
- The successful applicant will have good PC skills, able to adapt to new software.
- A flexible approach to work, capable of working on own initiative.
