Job Title: Stock Returns Controller
Description

The main purpose of the role is to ensure that the management of stock returns is delivered in a competent and cost effective manner with a view to ensuring the business is incurring the minimum possible levels of returns. It is pivotal in our drive to achieve ongoing improvements in our customers’ experience of dealing with us.

 You will be required to:
 
  1. Manage all goods returned by whatever method. This will include returns from retailers, end customers and non-deliveries.
  2. Ensure all returns goods are booked in and efficiently stored on the day of return.
  3. Develop, implement and monitor systems and control procedures to ensure efficient and effective management of the whole returns process.
  4. Analyse and report on return activity on a weekly basis together with measures to address problems.
  5. Identify, measure, report and manage key performance indicators
  6. Identify through root cause analysis the reason for returns and drive improvements by bringing the reasons to the attention of the decision makers within internal departments to take immediate and effective remedial measures to avoid future repetitions. This may also require interactions with retail customers and consumers so good communication and persuasion skills are essential.
  7. Control all returned stock prior to re-sale or scrapping of damaged stock. Complete regular physical stock checks to ensure validity of stock records.
  8. Effectively manage the Returns Operative(s) and ensure they are performing satisfactorily within the systems and controls specified.
  9. Undertake specific projects within the any part of the Company that will contribute to the reduction of returns and increase the service standards offered to customers.
 
To be successful you should will need to:
 
  • Have good experience of stock control procedures and best practice
  • Have good computer literacy with a good knowledge of MS Office and also the willingness to be trained on the in-house system.
  • Be highly analytical with the ability to drive down to the root cause of problem.
  • Have excellent influencing and persuasion skills to effect change in areas of the business not under the direct control of the job holder.
  • Have excellent good communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Possess a basic knowledge of statistics to complete report, analysis of trends etc.
  • Have high levels of drive and desire to effect change
