Job Title: Heavy Equipment Salesman
Description

 

Business Profile:

The Client is the dealer for JCB, John Deere, Dressta, TCM & Volvo CE for the Heavy Equipment Division. They are looking at positioning itself as a major player in the Heavy Equipment industry in Afghanistan and with its increasing machine population, growing product portfolio, and with our strategic positioning of entering the Infrastructure industry, HED has established the requirement of an experienced person to manage its Sales in Kabul and Kandahar.

Overall Purpose of the role:

To locate new markets for the sales of heavy equipment, specifically JCB, to maintain a strong relationship with current and former customers, and to be a strong representative of The Client and its product lines.

Key Responsibilities
·         Conducts all heavy equipment sales activities for their respective region in the Construction, Mining, Agricultural, Irrigation Equipment and other Equipment fields
·         Responsible for direct marketing efforts, networking, customer education/coordination, sales development
·         Continues to develop/service relationships with clients to ensure customer satisfaction and continuity with our company Products
·         To create a database of all the foreign contingents established in Afghanistan that have purchase JCB machines and require spare parts and after sales service. Yellow and Green JCB product line
·         To assist in forecast, budgeting and marketing budgets for the whole division in country
·         Support customers ( private contractors and Government Organization etc ) in the markets with visits with sales people to pro actively generate the requirement and lead to quotations, negotiation and sales along side with the team in country
·         Implement agency agreements with principals to protect the company’s interest
·         Maintain close relations with Principals under guidance of your superior to ensure the Company and staff are achieving expectations
·         Reporting on a regular and organized basis on developments and results
·         To maintain up-to-date records on activities and achievements
·         Abide by the company rules and regulations and good business ethics in the implementation of the job
·         Participate in supplier training and education programs as may be required from time to time
·         Capacity to manage a team of Sales, Marketing and Administration people to achieve KPI

Qualifications & Experience
EDUCATION:
·         Any certifications in the field of heavy equipment a plus, not required
·         4 year degree a plus, not required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
ESSENTIAL:
·         NATO/ISAF country national with NO criminal record, capable of expediently attaining ISAF/NATO access badging
·         Knowledge of multi-brand Heavy equipment products/willingness or ability to learn multi-brand heavy equipment products
·         Sales experience in any field (heavy equipment a plus)
·         Strong customer relations/development background. Preferred experience working with Military and Government representatives. Prior military service a plus
·         Ability to work in austere and possibly hostile environments of Afghanistan. Willing to travel in conflict areas to meet with clients aboard Forward Operating Bases. Security conscious and able to apply risk mitigation concepts in daily life
·         Must be self motivated, disciplined, stress tolerant and low maintenance individual. Able to work with multi-cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Must possess above average organizational and personal skills.
DESIRABLE:
·         Sales experience in heavy equipment field
·         Technical background in the field of heavy equipment is a plus
·         In-depth knowledge of JCB heavy equipment
·         Achieving of targets. Able to lead management and operational teams, creating a climate in which team members have a desire for results and are able to realize their potential
