Job Title: Electro-Mechanical Technician

Introduction:
Our client immediately requires an Electro-Mechanical Technician to carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment on our client's High Frequency Communication Site.
This is day shift work Monday to Friday and will be based on a 37 hour week. The successful candidate may occasionally be required to travel to other sites in the UK and overseas.
Due to the nature of this role you will have to undertake security clearance prior to starting work.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include the following:
- To be the Senior High Voltage Authorised Person on site if required.
- Maintain technical and administrative records and provide information as required;
- Install, inspect, test, and if necessary specify, electrical installations in accordance with the current IEE Wiring Regulations.
- Manufacture mechanical components from patterns or drawings.
- Carry out supervision of electrical and mechanical installation work.
- Review maintenance methods, implement and monitor improvements.
- Familiarisation with P.O.L substances.
- Safety & Health of self and others who may be affected by work activities.
- An adequate knowledge of and compliance with the Health and Safety policy and regulations consistent with their responsibilities.
- Observing safe working practices as advised and instructed.
- Report incidents or hazards which have led or may lead to injury.
- Prepared to work away from base site for short and extended periods.
- Demonstrate flexibility by multi skilling in other departments when necessary.
Applicant Requirements:
Essential:
- Recognised apprenticeship as an electrician or equivalent qualification.
- Qualified to City & Guilds 2381 electrical wiring, 2391-01 installation & certification or equivalent.
- Basic record of proven ability in related work. Requires good self-motivation.
- Previous knowledge of safe working practices within this discipline.
- Experienced in the use of operation of workshop machinery and mechanical plant.
- Possession of full driving licence.
- Willingness to travel within the UK & Overseas.
- Basic computer skills.
- Willingness to climb and work at heights.
Desirable Qualifications/Experience
- Previous experience of working with pressurised vessels;
- Qualified to operate a forklift vehicle.
